Its their 25th anniversary on Tuesday (22nd Dec) and he wants to get her something really special! He wanted to buy her a blackberry but they dont come in her current cell phone contract. He also wanted to get her a Kindle (electronic book reader thing) but we live in South Africa so it will take a long time to deliver!
He is already getting her jewellery for Christmas so what should he get for their anniversary?
My mom is really into horse riding, electronic-y stuff, organizational type of activities etc.
Keep in mind that she is 50+ so no weird young adult stuff!

As someone nearing 50, I would suggest that the best gift is the gift of time. Maybe a romantic day out to one of the wineries, planning a gourmet picnic at a scenic spot, or something like that. Then accompany that with a small gift of some type.

I have a great idea for you to give them. For our 25th anniversary, both of our kids came home from college. We ordered in a pizza and drank campaign, and talked. They each told their favorite memories from growing up, and then told their funniest memories. We laughed and laughed. I was surprised at what their favorite memories were. For example, we had taken a family vacation to California. I always felt their favorite part was Disneyland. But for my daughter, it was the afternoon that she & I spent on the beach and talked and watched the sunset.
