   Because it can do so much more than JUST read books plus when the pricing between that and the Kindle DX are nearly the same I would definitely choose the iPad over the Kindle. Plus the GUI of the ebooks and iBooks store combined are going to make sure Kindle is buried alive!

    I scan my textbooks for school so that I can put them on my laptop and bring them all to school without breaking my back.

    I scan them into pdf form, I leave them pretty high quality, so often the files are pretty big.

    Would I be able to view these on the kindel? if so. you might just have another person buying this.
