Depends. Check the owners manual or find information on your product online in order to check the compatibility with other languages. Some do support Chinese, some don’t.

Will bookstore chains go the way of Tower Records and other music stores? Lets hope not! I noticed that there is a new invention by Sony which readers can download books, magazines and some newspapapers. The downloads cost as much as $10. While this Sony reader become the ipod of books? In my opinion I thinkg people will still like paper books. Books don’t need electricity. Books can be taken anywhere such as airplanes, camping trips, the train and etc. Sonys electronic reader needs batteries and eats them fast.

I have often wondered the same thing. Will it mean the demise of books? Have you ever read Ray Bradbury’s "Farenheit 451"? He toys with the whole idea. I, for one shall never lose the desire to hold a book and the feel of the paper, the act of turning the pages, the progress through the story toward the denouement, the finale. There is something about the feel of the pages in hand. I will never give up my magazines. They are little capsules of monthly delight which comes in the mail every month or two. I don’t like paying for them, but I surely do love getting them. Call me old fashioned. I vote we keep books and magazines and put all junk mail on mp3 readers. How about you?

Did you know that books, textbooks and magazines as we know it may soon be a thing of the past? Ever since Amazon’s Kindle eBook reader became popular there as has been a peak in consumer interest for eBooks. Ebook readers are small electronic devices that use ePaper display technology, a method of displaying text that’s easy on the eyes and bright enough to read in broad daylight. There are many eBook readers available, however the Sony line is well knows for quality and ease of use.

I remember seeing Sony eBook readers at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas some years back, long before they were made available to the general public. Although released in 2006, the most significant advances in weight and usability have occurred recently. For example, the model I tested, the PRS-600 has a high resolution 6″ ePaper display, 2-week continuous reading battery life, touch screen interface, integrated mp3 player and even a stylus pen to make notes and drawings.

Unlike the other eBook devices, the Sony reader can import and read a variety of book formats. Simply put, this means that eBooks can be purchased from any eBookstore and you own the books yourself. In addition, the Sony can quickly convert, add and make searchable any content including Adobe Pdf and Microsoft Word files. The included stylus pen allows notes and highlights while reading as if writing in an actual book. However, the most impressive feature is the integrated dictionary. Simply highlight a word and the reader will give you its definition.

In August Sony announced that it will be introducing a new line of eBook readers later this year with wireless data connectivity, allowing it to match or surpass the capabilities of Amazon’s Kindle. Only time will tell if only a few years from now, like the compact disc, we will come to think of books in a whole new way.

Generally speaking, the more programs you load into your PC the longer it will take to boot up. Often each of your programs has something that loads during your computer’s startup process which it uses to operate. For example Quicken loads a bill reminder program on startup, Adobe Acrobat a speed loader and don’t forget your Antivirus and Antispyware software programs they can really add a minute or two to your computer’s boot time.

It’s good practice to go through your system once in a while and uninstall unnecessary software programs. If that still doesn’t help then it may be time to upgrade the memory on your system. It’s relatively inexpensive and makes a significant difference in system performance.

Small upgrades and regular maintenance on your computer system can extend the life of your machine. It’s certainly worth doing.
